I was hoping a UMHB/HSU basketball matchup would bring out a few more people to fill the seats. Being finals week, that didn’t happen. These two games were both shot on a new-to-me Canon 1DX and a 70-200 2.8IS II. With the seats being mostly empty, I try to keep my shots tight and try to photo mostly from the baselines to avoid the expanse of empty seats ending up in the background. I did bring out the wide-angle for a few photos in the women’s game, but I wasn’t happy with the results. Have to bring it out again when there are more spectators.
